Overview
The Alton Gateway, officially opened in June 2025, has transformed the entrance to Alton, a market town in East Hampshire. The scheme combines affordable housing, a care home, and retirement flats. Amidst this mixed-use development sits Emma House—a low-energy housing block targeting sustainable, affordable living.
Resolution Energy provided energy consultancy support to our client, Highwood Group, delivering a comprehensive energy assessment to ensure compliance with planning policy requirements. The scheme was required to demonstrate a minimum 10% reduction in regulated carbon emissions through the integration of on-site renewable energy technologies. Completed in May 2025, the photovoltaic system is now operational and contributing effectively to the development’s low-carbon strategy.
