Commercial buildings
New commercial buildings require an SBEM calculation. This stands for ‘Simplified Building Energy Model’ and is the government approved methodology for complying with Part L2 of the Building Regulations.
Fully accredited through Elmhurst Energy as a Level 4 Non-Domestic Energy Assessor, we provide SBEM calculations for new commercial building types, including offices, retail units, warehouses, education and healthcare buildings.
We can also carry out SBEM calculations for ‘multi residential’ buildings such as care homes or student accommodation.
An SBEM calculation may also be required if you are planning a large extension to a commercial building.
We use the latest Design Builder software to construct a 3D model of your building, this helps to make our calculations faster and more accurate. We recommend you commission the SBEM calculations early on in the design process to ease the process of achieving compliance.
